Hair threading is becoming more and more popular as individuals search for a new way to remove hair. The process can be done at home if you would like to or you can get a much better procedure done through a salon. For those that are looking for a new method of hair removal, besides all the waxing and the shaving, hair threading may be the answer for you. Although it is about as painful as waxing, it can help to remove the fine hair that grows over your body.Threading hair removal is a lesser known method that is kinder to the skin than many other procedures. It is a very economical and effective way of keeping the facial areas and eyebrows clean and free of unwanted body hair.

What is threading hair removal?

Threading is an ancient method of hair removal still used in many countries in the Middle East as well as India and Pakistan. It is used to give clean lines and good shape to the eyebrows and also remove hair from the upper lip and other facial areas.

Threading is a technique which involves a string which pulls the hair from the root. Many women use threading for the eyebrows and face. This is not a permanent solution to hair removal and is considered an ancient method of removing unwanted hair.

There are temporary and permanent methods of hair removal. Threading is an old method of hair removal. This method involves the use of thread for removing hair. The practitioner rolls twisted cotton threads over untidy hairlines and plucks the unwanted hair. Eyebrow threading technique is healthy since it does not result in in-grown hair.

Threading, inspite of being an ancient method, is still being used in some parts of the world like India and the Middle East. In Arabic this method is called khite whereas in Egypt it is called fatlah. In some western countries also there are beauty saloons that use threading hair removal method. Threading is used to remove hair from entire face including eyebrows, upper lip, chin, sideburns and cheeks. Sometimes it is also used to remove hair from belly button to pubic bone and toes.

The technique itself is quite simple but does need some practice to do it well while not causing pain. While it is similar in nature to plucking and tweezing, it is often used in preference to these two techniques because of the ease in removing hair in clean straight lines.

The technique involves a cotton thread where the ends are tied together creating a loop. The hands are then inserted into the loop and the thread is twisted numerous times. The thread is then moved gently over the hair covered area. As the thread is moved over the hair, the twist in the thread gently “ties-up” the hair and pulls it out by the root.

How does threading hair removal affect the skin?

The effects of threading are less than with other hair removal methods such as tweezing, waxing or sugaring. The skin may get a little red and sore but only a slight pinch is felt as a relatively large area is covered each time.

Unlike waxing or the use of depilatories, irritation and skin rashes are avoided with threading as the top layer of dead skin is not stripped off in the process.

Laser hair removal is safer and now more affordable than ever. It is typically a rather tolerable procedure for patients. At this time, short-term data indicates that laser hair treatment is routinely healthy. Laser hair removal is not harmful as long as it is done correctly and cautiously. It is acceptable to use on all spots of the body. Laser hair removal is quickly becoming the method of choice for permanent hair removal for both men and women. The laser employed for the procedure is a precise surgical instrument that vaporizes and excises tissue with minimal deterioration.Laser facial hair removal is the option preferred by many people around the world for removing unwanted hairs in the face. Other methods of facial hair removal such as shaving, plucking and using depilatory creams can be irritating and messy. To avoid such discomforts with these methods you can go for laser facial hair removal.

Before you go for a laser facial hair removal kindly consult your physician who can identify the best type of laser facial hair removal for your type of skin. You can opt for any laser. The type of laser that is to be used for facial hair removal has to be determined based on the type of skin a person has. This will be done by the doctor prior to the laser facial hair removal.

There are several reasons why people - especially women - have come to prefer the Laser Hair Removal on their face. The simple answer to the puzzle is that earlier methods like tweezing are not as efficient as this technique. Tweezing can irritate the hair follicles, making the method a cosmetic hazard for women. Sometimes, the tweezers leave a part of the hair strand standing, causing it to grow back before long.

There are several methods of hair removal: waxing, shaving, tweezing, and cream and gel depilatories and many other products. Permanent methods include laser and radio waves. Here is some information about how to pick a facial hair remover method to best suit your needs. Study facial hair removal options. There are varieties of options to choose, such as depilatories, waxing, tweezing, electrolysis, shaving, laser hair removal, radio wave hair removal and the prescription-only product, Vaniqa.

Following are the methods usually practiced for facial hair removal:

Laser facial hair removal : Laser hair removal procedure is a great option for people with light colored skin and having dark hair. Laser treatment can make color of the hair lighter and the texture after few treatments.

Electrolysis facial hair removal : Electrolysis facial hair removal method employs a thin metal probe which is inserted into the hair follicle (in the hair root) and electricity is passed through the probe. The electricity causes permanent damage to the follicle or hair root, due to which hair growth stops. This method is slightly expensive and a little bit painful. However it is a safe method providing good long-term results for facial hair removal.

Intense pulsed lamps or flash lamp : This method gives good and long term results for facial hair removal. In this method specific wavelengths (the full spectrum including infrared) of light are generated in a flash lamp and are transferred to the hair follicle or root of the hair to cause permanent damage to the chromophores. The damage stops hair growth.

Lazer hair removal for women can help to combat this problem and this is why the laser hair removal treatment has become so popular. Lazer hair removal is a permanent body hair removal solution and can be carried out all over the body. Laser facial hair removal is another option for women. Laser hair removal is growing in popularity but the cost is still fairly high. Once again the hair removal is not permanent. This process is fairly pain free and is a good choice for many women.Lazer hair removal clinics specialize in permanent body hair removal and laser hair removal in New York is probably the most famous due to the number of clinics available and the high publicity these clinics have received. The laser hair removal treatments in New York boast having the most expensive Doctors and specialists and the average cost of laser hair removal is approximately $500 a treatment.

Shaving with a wet razor is not recommended as a female facial hair removal method because hairs grow back very quickly and the stubble appears thicker and darker. One can remove unwanted female facial hair with a hair removal cream or lotion known as a depilatory. But don’t be surprised if you get pimples as a reaction to the harsh chemicals.

Whatever the reason for female head shaving or baldness, we would encourage you to embrace the vision of your beauty as a person - to see your own value as a human being, and to realize profoundly that your beauty has nothing to do with your hair or lack of it. Whatever your external attributes are, you can learn to embrace and love yourself unconditionally and not because of how you do or don’t look.

1. How does lazer hair removal work?

A laser hair removal treatment uses specially designed laser to heat the hair follicles and render them inactive. The energy from the lasers used is absorbed by the pigment in the hair shaft otherwise known as melanin and any subsequent hair that grows from this hair follicle will be much lighter in color. After a number of treatments many people find that their lazer hair removal treatments have produced permanent hair removal results.

2. Can anyone have lazer hair removal carried out?

Although skin color and type will affect lazer hair removal, this is only in the amount of treatments that will be required. Darker hair is easier to treat than lighter hair.

Nowadays most females prefer laser hair removal for permanent destruction of hairs in unwanted areas. Previously, women preferred to go for regular shaving or waxing of unwanted hair growth areas.

The area where the laser hair removal is performed solely depends on the individual’s interest. If you hate waxing or regular shaving of hairs in unwanted areas, it is highly advisable to go for laser hair removal. Laser hair removal is being advocated in all the areas of unwanted hair growth except areas close to the eyes.

The common areas susceptible for laser hair removal are upper lip, neck, face, periareolar region (around the nipples of the breast), legs, bikini line, armpits and back. Laser hair removal operation can last anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours depending on the size of the areas being taken care of.

Sugar waxing is a popular form of hair removal that works in the same way traditional waxing does. A thick sugary substance similar to caramel is spread on the skin in the direction of hair growth. The hair becomes embedded in the caramel. A cloth or paper strip is patted onto the caramel and then pulled off quickly in the opposite direction of the hair growth, pulling the hairs out of the follicles. The advantage of this method over traditional waxing is the clean up. The sugar substance is water-soluble and can be removed easier than wax by rinsing with water.
Wax recipe

Ingredients:2 cups granulated sugar, ¼ cup water, ¼ cup lemon juice. Method:Pour the sugar, water and lemon juice in a saucepan, and heat it over a low flame. Keep stirring the mixture until all the sugar has melted, and you have a thick brown liquid. Let it cool slightly. Waxing technique: Test the temperature before applying the wax to your skin. It should be hot, but not scalding, or you can burn yourself. Once the wax has cooled slightly, test it on your finger. Blow on it to cool it with your breath and apply it to your skin with a butter knife, in the direction of hair growth. Place a clean cotton cloth strip on the wax and yank it against the direction of hair growth.

Wipe the area clean with a cold cloth after you’ve finished waxing. You could also apply ice to the waxed area, to close and tighten pores. You may notice that your skin has turned red, or that you have tiny bumps on the skin immediately after waxing. This is a normal reaction, and the redness and bumps should disappear within an hour. Applying a moisturizer or soothing lotion will help.If you can still see sugar particles in the wax, the hair will probably not come out and you would need to re-cook the wax.

Sugar waxing is a great hair removal technique for people with sensitive skin. Regular waxing methods can harm sensitive skin, leaving redness and irritation behind. Sugar waxing is cheaper than other wax methods and leaves less mess for an easy cleanup afterwards.

How to Make Sugar Waxing

Things Needed: 1 Lemon, 1 cup Honey, 1 cup Sugar, Microwave, Microwave-safe Bowl. Instructions: Take a microwave-safe bowl. Put honey and sugar in it. Mix thoroughly. Cut the lemon in half. Squeeze juice from the lemon and put it in the bowl. Mix thoroughly. Keep the bowl in the microwave and heat at high, for 2-5 minutes.

The main difference between sugaring hair removaland waxing is the fact that sugaring is actually less painful than waxing is because of the fact that waxing is known to stick to the skin as well as the hair. Another difference among sugaring and waxing is the fact that sugaring is known to be made out of ingredients that are natural so therefore it is less harmful than waxing is considered to be. One thing that you need to keep in mind is just because it says that it is natural, it doesn’t mean that it is safe.

Plucking hair with tweezers is an effective way to remove hair but can be very time consuming. The hair shaft must be long enough to grasp with tweezers. Plucking is time-consuming because you can only remove one hair at a time. However, it’s inexpensive because all you need are tweezers.
Plucking can be painful, so it’s best to do it only on small areas, such as the eyebrows, upper lip, and chin. If the hair breaks off below the skin, a person may get an ingrown hair. After plucking, you may notice temporary red bumps because the hair follicle is swollen and irritated.

Plucking is the most painful method, but may be the most worthwhile when there are just a few hairs you want to remove. Examples include reshaping your eyebrows or pulling out those few stray hairs that may appear on your face, especially for a woman. You should not use this hair removal method for large areas because it can cause ingrown hairs or scarring.

Plucking (tweezing) is an effective way of pulling out individual stray hairs on the eyebrow area, and can be painful. (Never tweeze the hairs on the upper lip or chin, or those on a pigmented mole.) Plucking is the removal of hair using a tweezer. This is not recommended for those who are planning to remove massive amount of hair. Hair is totally removed from the roots which can assure longer growth time.

Plucking hair removal is the most normal method for shaping the eyebrows and some people use it at home to remove odd individual hairs on the upper lip or the chin area. It will, on the facial area rather than the eyebrows, possibly make the hair a little coarser because the hair may grow deeper and stronger, because the base of the follicle may be slightly distorted by pulling out the hair. Mass plucking, if you like, is something that happens with an epilator.

Plucking is one of the cheapest methods for hair removal. It is safe and simple to use but is painful and takes a lot of time. This method can either be done manually or make use of modern technology such as mechanical plucking devices with rotating springs. Generally tweezing instrument is used for plucking which pulls out the hair follicles. It is mainly for facial areas such as eyebrows and chin. The advantage of this method is that it requires minimal time. It is done by professionals who pluck the eyebrow hair and provides shape to your eyebrows but can also be done in the comfort of home.

Plucking is best performed using tweezers and is a beneficial and economic method for removing the occasional coarse hair or a small group of hairs such as those found on the eyebrows, chin or nipples. The results of plucking last longer than shaving because hair is pulled from the hair shaft, as within waxing. This method is time consuming, tedious and painful. The reaction of the hair follicle to plucking can be unpredictable, possibly resulting in hyperpigmentation, scarring and ingrown hairs.

Vaniqa hair removal is a prescription-only topical cream that has been FDA-approved for reducing and inhibiting the growth of unwanted facial hair. The active ingredient in Vaniqa is eflornithine hydrochloride, which has been used to treat African sleeping sickness and certain cancers. Vaniqa works by inhibiting an enzyme that is needed for cell reproduction and other cell functions necessary for hair growth.

Continue to use Vaniqa even if you do not see immediate results. Reduction in facial hair occurs gradually. Improvement may be seen as early as 4 to 8 weeks of treatment, however it may take longer in some individuals. If no improvement is seen after 6 months of use, treatment with Vaniqa should be discontinued. Hair growth may return to pretreatment levels approximately 8 weeks after discontinuation of treatment with Vaniqa.

All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. Check with your doctor if any of these most common side effects persist or become bothersome: Redness; skin tingling; temporary stinging or burning. Seek medical attention right away if any of these side effects occur: Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); bleeding or irritation of the skin.

Hair growth cells and cancer cells share some interesting characteristics: rapidly dividing with multiple potentials for differentiation. This is one reason chemotherapy and radiation can result in hair loss: they disrupt the same kinds of cellular activity . It has been theorized that some cancer drugs may be used to induce a controlled amount of hair loss or reduction. Vaniqa’s active ingredient, eflornithine hydrochloride, has antitumor activity. It is the first commercially available topical preparation to come out of this sort of research.

In clinical trials, one out of three women using Vaniqa had significantly less or no facial hair growth at the application site after 24 weeks of therapy. Another 26 percent showed some improvement, while 42 percent reported no change or increased hair growth. Vaniqa users also said they spent significantly less time removing, treating, or concealing their facial hair.

Vaniqa is a prescription hair reduction cream; its active ingredient, Eflornithine, was originally developed as a cancer medication. Unfortunately, doctors found no significant effects on cancer, but discovered a number of surprising uses for the drug, as a treatment for African sleeping sickness and you guess it, hair reduction. Vaniqa cream is not to be confused with a depilatory; it does not remove hair. It is an enzyme inhibitor that simply retards hair growth. Within the first 4-6 weeks most Vaniqa users see a noticeable reduction in the amount of unwanted facial hair.

If you have tried hair removal creams from the three brands mentioned above without the results that you were looking for, then Vaniqa may be a good option. Vaniqa is a prescription hair removal cream. However, it is designed to remove that annoying facial hair that you have always wanted to get rid of. The good news is that Vaniqa is FDA approved, as well as dermatologist recommended.

Waxing hair removal is an effective method of removing large amounts of hair at one time. In this method wax is warmed to allow it to be spread easily over the skin in the direction of hair growth. The hair becomes embedded in the wax, which cools and firms up grasping the hair. The wax is then quickly pulled off in the opposite direction of the hair growth, pulling the hairs out of the follicles. Cold waxes are available usually attached to strips, which are patted onto the skin. Wax that is still left on the skin must be peeled or scratched off. Caution must be used when heating wax so as not to burn the skin.

Waxing is accomplished by spreading a wax combination thinly over the skin. A cloth or paper strip is then pressed on the top and ripped off with a quick movement against the direction of hair growth. This removes the wax along with the hair The wax then hardens when it cools, thus allowing the easy removal by a therapist without the aid of cloths. This waxing method is very beneficial to people who have sensitive skin.

Some physicians do not recommend hair waxing for persons suffering from diabetes or who have varicose veins or poor circulation as they are more susceptible to infection. Users of Retin-A, Renova, Differin or Accutane are advised not to use hair waxing on the face as these medications tend to weaken the skin and tearing of the skin may occur when the wax is removed.Hair waxing should not be done on areas of skin affected by warts, pimples, moles or rashes or on skin that is irritated, chapped or suffering from sunburn. Never apply wax to peeling, broken skin or varicose veins. Never apply wax to the nipples when removing hair from the breast area.

Never wax just after sunbathing or a tanning salon: Tanning always harms epidermis - the outer layer of skin. So, when you are putting hot wax on it, pulling and ripping it off can peel a few layers of your skin, and you can end up with visible bruises or even scabs.

Waxing leaves the area smooth and is long lasting. Waxing kits are readily available in drugstores and grocery stores. Hair regrowth looks lighter and less noticeable than it is after other methods of hair removal, such as shaving.

Waxing and sugaring are the best ways to remove hair from the bikini area. Though temporary, these methods give a clean, smooth surface and the longest-lasting results (so less maintenance is required). Hair grows back finer because waxing pulls the hair out below the surface of the skin. Plus, waxing does not irritate the skin and nerve endings as shaving and depilatories do, so red bumps and irritations are kept to a minimum.

As dead skin cells are removed in this process the skin can feel quite smooth afterwards. The hair waxing action does cause the skin to sting and many find a soothing skin healing cream to be helpful afterwards. Some persons find the skin reacts with redness and bumps which disappear after a few hours.

The Society for Clinical and Medical Hair Removal, Inc. (SCMHR) is an international non-profit organization with members in the United States, Canada, Australia, Japan and beyond. SCMHR supports all methods of hair removal and is dedicated to the research of new technology that will keep its members at the pinnacle of their profession, offering safe, effective hair removal to their clients.

Laser hair removal is a medical procedure that uses laser light — an intense, pulsating beam of light — to remove unwanted hair. Laser hair removal works by passing a light beam through the skin. The laser targets dark pigment, called melanin, in hair. When the light beam hits the hair follicle (where hair growth originates), the intense heat destroys the hair follicle instantly.

The Light Sheer Diode Laser is the best and the most efficient laser for hair removal today. Developed by Harvard Medical School scientists at Wellman Laboratories in Massachusetts General Hospital, the Light Sheer Diode Laser achieves more comfortable, more effective, and faster hair removal for most patients than was previously possible with other lasers.

Everyone wants attractive, healthy looking, radiant skin. However, conflicting information, advertising hype and confusing jargon make it difficult to choose the right products for your needs. We understand your need for honest, straightforward information. Our treatments are based on science, independent clinical data and results, not “hype”. Our staff is individualized and goal-oriented. By using state-of-the-art scientifically proven medical-grade products, together we can achieve superior results.

Excessive or unsightly body hair can be upsetting for both men and women and difficult or inconvenient to remove. There are many methods to remove unwanted hair, none are permanent but laser hair removal is the most effective treatment available. Laser hair removal is a rapid, yet gentle way of removing inwanted hair, and is medically proven to give you permanent hair reduction.

Focus Medical Spa offers only FDA approved, result-oriented skin care treatments, including laser hair removal, facials, microdermabrasion, and more. You can enjoy luxurious treatment that has long-lasting beauty benefits. As specialists in non-invasive cosmetic procedures, we use the gold standard laser technology such as Lumenis One and LightSheer. We use Lumenis One to treat rosacea, sun-damaged skin, age spots, acne scars, wrinkles and spider veins. LightSheer is used for laser hair removal.

American Medical Aesthetics (AMA) are specialists in the use of advanced cosmetic lasers to treat a full spectrum of cosmetic and medical conditions that range from vascular imperfections, pigmented skin lesions and loss of collagen, to more physically and emotionally debilitating conditions such as cystic acne, acne scarring, Rosacea and scars/stretch marks.

Da Vinci Medical Spa Inc. (DMS) is focused on providing cutting-edge, modern technology that includes broad-band (BBL) and laser light for photofacials and hair removal, Botox® for wrinkles, headache and excessive sweating, hyaluronic acid (Teosyal®) and other facial fillers for lip augmentation and liquid face lifts, microdermabrasion for superficial skin exfoliation, and a scientifically-based skin cream line.

Laser hair removal has rightly been brought to the attention of those who work in the sector for its undeniable advantages with respect to the usual techniques: greater reliability and lower occurrence of side effects.

Veet’s unique In-Shower cream is great for girls on the go. As an added bonus, the spray can is designed to be used upside down for those hard-to-reach areas like the ankles and behind the knees.

Veet Hair Removal Gel Cream is a damaging product. Those who have not yet been persuaded by the advertisements must be informed of its dangers. This petition is to remove the chemical-pumped Veet Hair Removal Gel Cream from all shelves in Canada & the United States. Veet is calcium hydroxide, which is in reality a poisonous ingredient found in industrial cleaning products, as well as different types of cement. When exposed to ANY type of skin, calcium hydroxide’s symptoms are anything but pleasant. Symptoms include irritation, burning, necrosis (holes) in the skin or underlying tissues.

How to use Veet Hair Removal Mousse, moisturising with aloe vera -This is a mousse which is easily dispensed through a ’spray can’ effect.Shake the can well before use, Use in an empty bath or shower, Hold 10 cms away and spray the mousse evenly over dry skin, Leave for 8 minutes then test, then leave for a further 2 minutes if hair removal hasn’t taken place.

Veet Caressably Smooth Hair Removal Cream ensures effective hair removal in only 3 minutes*. Specially developed for dry skin, it contains Shea Butter and Lily and leaves your skin smooth and perfectly moisturized, so you feel desirable. For a perfect result remove the cream with the Perfect Touch Spatula. Veet is designed for legs, arms, underarms and bikini line but not suitable for use on the face, head, breast, perianal or genital areas.

New Veet® now comes with special skincare ingredients that suit each skin type-leaving your skin feeling smooth like never before!. It is very convenient to use as it comes in a tube with a special S-shaped Perfect Touch Spatula* for both application and removal. Veet Hair Removal Cream can be used on any length of hair. So, unlike waxing, with Veet® you have the advantage of smooth and beautiful skin any time and at all times!

VEET® Hair Removal Gel Creams work in 3-5 minutes* for smoothness that lasts up to twice as long as shaving. Designed for your specific skin type, the thick, no-drip Gel cream formula “goes on, stays on” to dissolve, rather than cut the hair like shaving, for long lasting smooth skin.
